1. Bolsa de Pós-Doutorado da FAPESP para doutores com experiência em Síntese Orgânica - CERSusChem

O Centro de Excelência para Pesquisa em Química Sustentável (CERSusChem, www.cersuschem.ufscar.br), apoiado por FAPESP e GSK, oferece uma bolsa de Pós-Doutorado da FAPESP para doutores com experiência em Síntese Orgânica.

O bolsista, que poderá ser brasileiro ou estrangeiro altamente qualificado, integrará a equipe de pesquisadores do CERSusChem, localizado no Departamento de Química da Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar). Os candidatos de vem possuir título de Doutor obtido há no máximo 7 (sete) anos, no país ou no exterior, e experiência comprovada no desenvolvimento de reações envolvendo catálise assimétrica. Experiência em língua inglesa e capacidade de trabalhar em equipes interdisciplinares também são desejadas.

A vaga está aberta a brasileiros e estrangeiros altamente qualificados. O selecionado receberá Bolsa de Pós-Doutorado da FAPESP (no valor de R$ 7.373,10 mensais) e Reserva Técnica. A Reserva Técnica de Bolsa de PD equivale a 15% do valor anual da bolsa e tem por objetivo atender a despesas imprevistas e diretamente relacionadas à atividade de pesquisa.

2. Postdoctoral Fellowship - Unique scientific opportunity to help drive drug discovery in Brazil for global neglected diseases

One postdoctoral position is available at the Center for Research and Innovation in Biodiversity and Drug Discovery (CIBFar - http://cibfar.ifsc.usp.br), one of the "Research, Innovation and Dissemination Centers" (CEPIDs) supported by FAPESP (The São Paulo Research Foundation), to join a multidisciplinary project in partnership with the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi - http://www.dndi.org), focused on the discovery and optimization of new chemical entities for the treatment of Leishmaniasis and Chagas disease. The registration perio d ends on 15th March, 2019.

The position is available to join the team of investigators in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) and will be responsible for the (1) design of target molecules and synthetic routes to those targets, working on series provided by DNDi, and (2) then carry out the synthesis in the laboratory. The candidate must have training in synthetic organic chemistry. Experience in Medicinal Chemistry is an advantage.

These activities comprise a key portion of a multidisciplinary consortium, and the selected candidate will be expected to play a leading role in the drug discovery project and liaise closely with other drug discovery scientists (e.g. medicinal chemistry, parasitology, DMPK, safety, formulation), contributing to the overall project team. These roles offer opportunities to work with leading drug discovery scientists in academia and industry.

Candidates must have obtained their PhD degree within the last 7 (seven) years and show fluency in English and willingness to work within interdisciplinary teams.

The Postdoctoral FAPESP Fellowship grant a monthly stipend of R$ 7.373,10 (Brazilian Real, plus research contingence funds, equivalent to 15% of the annual stipend, which is intended for use in activities developed in accordance to the research project, and during its valid period. Candidates who need to move to Campinas/SP - Brazil, with displacement distance above 350 km (three hundred and fifty kilometers), may request the benefit of aid installation, consisting of an additional monthly fee and transport costs. This benefit must be approved by FAPESP.

4. The Newton Fellowship selects early stage post-doctoral researchers from all over the world

The Newton International Fellowship selects the very best early stage post-doctoral researchers from all over the world and offers support for two years (or longer at 0.6 FTE for caring responsibilities). They provide grants of £24,000 (tax exempt) per annum to cover subsistence and up to £8,000 per annum to cover research expenses, plus a one-off relocation allowance of up to £3,000 (£2,000 for EEA nationals). The Fellowship also provides a contribution to overheads. In addition, Newton International Fellows may be eligible for follow-up funding of up to £6,000 per annum for up to 5 years following the completion of the Fellowship.

The Newton International Fellowships are funded by the UK Government's Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy to ensure that the UK engages with the world's most promising early career academics. Newton International Fellowships are awarded jointly by three of the UK's national research academies – the Royal Society, the British Academy and the Academy of Medical Sciences.

The Fellowships provide an opportunity for some of the most talented post-doctoral researchers working overseas to carry out world class research in UK institutions across all disciplines of natural sciences and engineering, social science and humanities, and patient orientated research (or clinical research).
