2. UNESCO-IWRA Online Conference on “Emerging Pollutants: Protecting Water Quality for the Health of People and the Environment”, to be held from 17-19 January 2023
The International Water Resources Association (IWRA), in partnership with UNESCO-IHP, is pleased to announce that the call is open for abstract submissions until 21 October 2022.
The Online Conference will highlight the ways the world can advance knowledge, research, and solutions for managing emerging pollutants to improve and protect water quality in a changing world.
Submit your abstract in one of the five themes:
1) Emerging pollutants in aquatic ecosystems;
2) Emerging pollutants and groundwaters;
3) Emerging pollutants and managing wastewater and waste;
4) A circular economy approach: lifecycle management of emerging pollutants;
5) "Priority" emerging pollutants in the hydrocycle: microplastics, nanomaterials, PFAS and PPCPs.
We encourage participation by experts from Latin America, women, and youth. This conference will have a special submission category for young water professionals.
Thanks to UNESCO's support, participation is free for all, and all conference-related materials will be open access.
